The Oscars are one of the biggest star studded events of the year and while there are hours of primping beforehand, there are also plenty of touchups happening right before those famous beauties and handsome men hit the stage. We spoke with head makeup artist of the Academy Awards, Bruce Grayson, to find out his favorite tricks and tools. "Most personal artists can’t come backstage, so my team and I really take care of these stars and make sure they look their best before they appear on camera," says Grayson. Naturally, we had to find out what Grayson is stocking up on before the big show on Sunday. Scroll on to discover the five products he keeps waiting in the wings.

Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation ($62; sephora.com)

"I feel like 90 percent of makeup artists use this base, so it makes sense for me to touch up with it,” says Grayson. "It’s pigmented and opaque, so I can move fast with it. Plus, it looks super natural.”

Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage ($35; lauramercier.com)

“This concealer is great for quick touchups, since it covers quickly and blends really well. I apply it over any discolorations, or under the eyes to freshen up skin."

BeautyBlender Original Sponge ($20; sephora.com)

"I need to have this backstage,” says Grayson of the blending sponge. “It quickly blends foundation and provides a natural, flawless finish. I like to stipple it over the skin with a little concealer or foundation, adding coverage where needed."

MAC Blush in Peaches ($22; maccosmetics.com)

A combination of peach and pink, the shade flatters most skin tones," says Grayson. “The powder gives warmth and adds a pop without being too overpowering."

Boscia Pink Peppermint Blotting Linens ($6; sephora.com)

"Naturally, I always carry blotting papers, and these ones by Boscia are my favorite," Grayson says. "A lot of blotting papers are made of a type of plastic that lift off your base. These are more like thin paper, so they absorb oil on the skin without disturbing makeup. Plus, many stars don't like powder, so this is a better way to get rid of any excess shine."
