As the Spring 2015 collections hit runways around the world, it was clear that there is a new heavy metal hardware taking center stage: the grommet.
Year after year, the accessories game has been all about studs. Shoes, handbags, and sometimes even sunglasses, have been embellished with tons of those little shiny pyramid-like adornments—hello, Valentino Rockstud everything. But as the Spring 2015 collections hit the runways, it was clear that there is a new heavy metal hardware taking center stage: the grommet.Take a look at Peter Dundas's Emilio Pucci collection (above). Dundas decked out nearly all of his accessory offerings with the grommet, and interestingly enough, the pieces managed to maintain the glam and sexy '70s vibe of the collection rather than the badass mood a grommet may bring to mind.
In turn, grommet-detailed shoes and handbags are available in all styles and at all price points. Whether you want teeny tiny grommets that will subtly give a nod to the trend or you prefer full blown oversize grommets, you'll find a piece to suit your taste.
So, are grommets the new studs? That's up to you to decide. Keep scrolling to shop.
