James Corden had better start brushing up on his fashion knowledge. The new host of The Late Late Show has just been tapped to helm the 2015 CFDA Awards, which take place on June 1 at Lincoln Center. The CFDA shared the news with a fun Instagram photo of Corden with the caption, "The fashion crowd is in for a real treat. The host of the 2015 CFDA Awards is ... James Corden!"
You don't exactly equate the very funny Corden with haute couture, but that doesn't mean he won't rock it. CFDA CEO Steven Kolb said in a press release, "As the charming and funny new host of The Late Late Show, we couldn't think of a better time for James Corden to share his observations on American fashion at the 2015 CFDA Fashion Awards."
While Corden may not be known for being a part of the fashion scene, he certainly proved he has some modeling skills as he showed off recently in a spoof underwear commercial with fellow Brit David Beckham on his show.
CFDA nominees for this year include Joseph Altuzarra, Marc Jacobs, Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen for The Row, Tom Ford, and Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne for Public School. Pharrell Williams will also receive the Fashion Icon award.
