Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Viola Davis ... It takes a village of super actors to play our favorite superheroes in the upcoming film Suicide Squad—and director David Ayer just gave us a thrilling first look at the team.
Ayer tweeted a photo of the cast during a break from script reading in Toronto, and pictured in it are Ayer, Joel Kinnaman, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Jay Hernandez, Jai Courtney, Viola Davis, Adam Beach, Jim Parrack, Ike Barinholtz, Cara Delevingne, Margot Robbie, Karen Fukuhara, and Will Smith.
However, noticeably absent from the photo opt? Mr. Jared Leto. The dreamy actor portrays the Joker in the film and has geared up for the role by chopping off his long locks and going platinum blonde; unfortunately, he somehow missed out on this shot (or did he take the snap?).
We were especially happy to see Delevingne looking right at home among the actors. The model and budding thespian has a roster of films being released this year, including Paper Towns and Pan. We'll have to wait until fall 2016 to see her bring her Suicide Squad character, Enchantress, to life on the big screen. Here's hoping we get a glimpse of her (and the rest of the cast) in character before then!
